The 1978-79 Seattle Supersonics pose for a team photo during the 1978-79 season. The squad would go onto win the only NBA championship in franchise history. In 2008, the Sonics left Seattle, relocated to Oklahoma City and promptly put together one of the NBA’s most exciting teams. The Thunder knocked out the Spurs last night, 107-99, and will face the winner of the Miami-Boston series in the NBA Finals. Unfortunately for Seattle fans, it doesn’t take away the sting of losing their beloved Sonics.
