Today marks the nine-year anniversary of The Bartman Incident that Chicago fans believe cost the team a potential championship. The Cubs were five outs from their first trip to the World Series since 1945 before giving up eight runs to the Marlins. The team appeared to come apart after a fan named Steve Bartman, sitting along the left-field line at Wrigley Field, tried to catch a foul ball that was about to be caught by Cubs’ outfielder Moises Alou for the second out of the inning.
